Marriott International yesterday opened the Renaissance Shanghai Caohejing in the western Xuhui district of China’s most populous city.
The hotel is Marriott’s 19th property in Shanghai, of which six are Renaissance-branded hotels. The group said that Renaissance, its chain of up-market and individually distinct hotels, was proving to be popular in China.
The Renaissance Shanghai Caohejing has 383 rooms including deluxe rooms, club rooms and suites. Also available are 14 meeting rooms, along with a 570 sqm ballroom.

There is a 24-hour indoor swimming pool and fitness centre, with personal trainers on hand.
Positioned furthest west of all the Renaissance hotels in Shanghai, the hotel is very close to the Caohejing Hi-Tech Park where over 1,200 domestic and international tech companies reside.
It is also just 7 km from Shanghai’s Hongqiao Airport, which is receiving a growing number of international and domestic flights (see story here).
A block away from the hotel is Caohejing Hi-Tech Park Station and line 9 of the Shanghai Metro which connects to the Pudong area.
The hotel will also feature other Renaissance-branded programmes, such as the special online destination guide called Navigator and the RLife LIVE series showcasing up-and-coming musicians.
