Starwood’s Aloft Hotels brand is to open its first property in South Korea, a 120-room hotel in Suwon, a city located around 30km south of Seoul.
Slated to open in October 2014, Aloft Suwon will occupy floors four to 11 of a mixed use development in the Yeongtong-dong district.
Features will include 114 standard rooms and six suites, an all-day dining restaurant and lounge / bar, 404sqm of meeting space, a gym and an 854sqm spa.
The city of Suwon is the provincial capital of South Korea’s Gyeonggi-do province, and is situated around 60km from Incheon International airport.
While it’s the first Aloft property in South Korea, the brand has an established presence in the Asia-Pacific region, with hotels already open in the Chinese cities of Beijing, Guangdong, Henan and Shandong, Indian destinations including Bengaluru and Chennai, and properties set to open in Bangkok, Chengdu, Delhi and Kuala Lumpur.
