Fraser Residences Shanghai is undergoing a large-scale overhaul in order to reopen this October with enhanced facilities.
According to a Fraser Hospitality spokesperson, the building has been totally gutted and the units reconfigured to include "a new category of rooms and studios", especially created to appeal to short-stay business. He continued: "We added new features in the apartments, larger kitchens and bathrooms with more wardrobe space for the larger units."
The new rooms will exhibit contemporary designs, with a slant towards minimalism.
The renovation has also created more meeting spaces in response to high demand for these services, and they have likewise considerably enlarged the property's gym. The residences will continue to provide a lounge with pool table and tea and coffee available.
The Fraser Residences Shanghai, which opened in early 2009 (see story here), is located in the heart of Shanghai’s Luwan district, close to the city centre and the popular Xintiandi entertainment precinct. Fraser Hospitality also operates the Fraser Suites Shanghai in the Pudong area.
The company spokesperson said that the majority of their guests have previously been corporate clients from Fortune 500 companies and that he expects this to be the same once the accommodation reopens.
