Vandalism causes East Midlands Trains disruption

26 Jul 2012 by BusinessTraveller

East Midlands services in and out of London St Pancras are currently subject to delays and cancellations due to a "complete loss of signalling due to vandalism" in the Bedford area.

The rail operator has posted the following on its website homepage:

"Train services to and from London are being disrupted at Bedford due to signalling problems in the area as a result of vandalism. Please check before you travel."

The firm has also posted several updates on its Twitter page (both posted around 1100):

"#EastMidlandsTrains services are currently unable to run to / from London St Pancras due to complete loss of signalling due to vandalism."

"#EastMidlandsTrains ticket holders can travel on East Coast, Virgin West Coast, London Midland and Cross Country on alternative routes."

London St Pancras station is set to play an important transport role during the London 2012 Games, with Javelin shuttle services taking passengers to the Olympic Park.
