Industry website airlineroute.net has revealed that based on GDS inventory display, Malaysia Airlines is set to retire the last of its Boeing 747 aircraft from its operation by November.
The former Queen of the Skies is retiring from the Kuala Lumpur (KLIA)-London Heathrow (LHR) route from November 24 and from the KLIA-Sydney service after the departure of MH122 from the Australian city on November 25.
A spokesperson from MAS has confirmed with Business Traveller that when its second A380 joins its fleet next month, it will begin to shuttle daily between KLIA and LHR. Its third A380 is expected for November, and it will also be flying daily, between the Malaysian capital and Sydney.
