Emirates has announced that there will be a modification to the website of its Business Rewards loyalty programme, which continues to benefit Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) with less than 80 employees. The programme was first launched in 2008 (see story here), rewarding both companies who are Business Rewards members and individual travellers who are Skywards members with miles when SMEs make a booking for their employees. In the past, Business Rewards accounts of companies and Skywards account of staff members were not linked, so when SMEs purchased flight tickets for their staff, the individual travellers had to apply for Skywards Miles separately.
The new programme however, features a redesigned website for easy booking and account management by linking the two rewards systems together. Now, when companies book flights for their employees online or via authorised travel agents, individual travellers will automatically receive personal Skywards Miles, while companies receive one Business Rewards Mile for every US$1 spent on travel with the carrier. Miles earned can be redeemed for flights, so as to encourage the international expansion of SMEs. Administrators of SMEs can use the online portal to manage employee travel and miles as well as make reservations 24 hours a day.
The loyalty programme now has 16,000 registered accounts in over 80 countries.
