United reveals Dreamliner livery

10 Jul 2012 by ScottCarey7

United is scheduled to take delivery of its first Dreamliner in late September and has revealed the latest details regarding the aircraft’s induction into the fleet, including a brand new livery.

The 787 fleet will feature a customized livery that is exclusive to the Dreamliner. The livery, depicted below, features a gold line that will “swoop” from nose to tail. This feature is a homage to the trademark Boeing swoop as a tribute to the two companies' long history of working together.

United is the launch customer for the B787 Dreamliner in North America and will launch the aircraft this autumn, before placing it on the carrier's new Denver-Tokyo route from next spring (see online news May 23).

The first aircraft will be configured with 36 seats in United BusinessFirst, 72 seats in Economy Plus and 111 seats in economy. United has recently installed a full-flight simulator at its Houston hub and is training pilots to operate the aircraft.
