10 Jul 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Ethiopian Airlines is set to take delivery of its first Boeing Dreamliner aircraft next month, configured for 246 economy and 24 business class seats.

The carrier had previously hoped to launch the aircraft in June on routes to Johannesburg and Dubai (see online news February 20), but in its latest trade newsletter Ethiopian Airlines said that it "will soon be the proud recipient of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in Africa, which is expected to be delivered in August 2012".

The carrier has a total of ten B787 Dreamliners on order, and according to ethiopianairlines.com the aircraft will be configured for 246 economy and 24 Cloud Nine business class seats.
