Avis has launched a pilot UK service for rentals from Edinburgh airport, allowing customers to hire portable wifi hotspots for £8.50 per day.
The firm says that the portable hotspots are small enough to fit into a pocket or bag, and offer instant internet access across the UK (with a fair usage data policy of 500MB per day). Up to five devices can be connected to the hotspot simultaneously.
The mobile wifi service can be booked through Avis’ European websites and call centres for pick-up at Edinburgh airport. The car rental company also offers a similar service at airports in Madrid and Barcelona.
