Qantas has announced it will increase the frequency of its Sydney-Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) service from July 1 onwards.
The carrier will add one extra flight, going from six times a week to a daily service, using a newly refurbished three-class B747-400ER that features seats and services similar to those found on the carrier’s A380.
Demand on this route, says Stephen Thompson, the airline's executive manager, has been high since it was launched in May last year as part of Qantas’ international growth strategy aiming to restore strong profitability (see story here). Other elements of the strategy include route rationalisation as well as deferring deliveries of its Dreamliner aircraft (see story here) and new A380s (see story here) to save costs.
“This announcement is all about putting our gateway strategy into action and building a stronger Qantas International for our customers," said Thompson.
