13 Jun 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Accor has officially opened the first property under its midscale Mercure brand in Russia, a 109-room in Moscow’s historic district.

The Mercure Arbat Moscow features four suites, La Promenade restaurant for Franco-Russian dishes, a bar, fitness centre and meeting space. All guest rooms at the property benefit from free wifi.

Accor plans to open two further Mercure hotels in Russia before the end of this year, including a property in Sochi, host city of the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The group aims to expand from its current 14 properties across Russia, Ukraine and Turkmenistan, to 50 hotels in the Russia-CIS region by 2015.
