JAL announces start date of San Diego B787 service

13 Jun 2012

Japan Airlines will launch a new nonstop service between Tokyo (Narita) and San Diego on December 2, 2012, which will be operated by the carrier’s Boeing B787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The new service, which will be codeshared with American Airlines, will fly four times weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing Tokyo at 1710 and arriving in San Diego at 0945. The return leg will depart at 1130, arriving back in Tokyo at 1630 the following day.

Meanwhile, JAL will also increase frequencies on flights between Tokyo (Narita) and New Delhi. Starting from October 28, 2012. The carrier will add two flights on the route, making it a daily service.

The two additional services will initially be served by the B777-200ER before switching to the Dreamliner on November 30, as with the rest of the services on this route (see story here). The B777s will feature the carrier’s premium economy seats (View a Tried and Tested of the seats here).

JAL will also change the operation days for direct flights between Tokyo (Narita) and Moscow – also operated by the Dreamliner - to Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, instead of Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, starting from October 28, 2012.
