IHG’s boutique brand Hotel Indigo is to open its first property in Wales, a 92-room hotel located on Cardiff’s Queen Street.
Hotel Indigo debuted in the UK in 2009, with a converted property in London’s Paddington district, and has since added a second hotel in the capital, along with properties in Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh, the last of which opened in March (see online news April 18).
Hotel Indigo Cardiff will be housed within Dominion’s House on the pedestrianised Queen Street, within walking distance of Cardiff Castle and the Millennium Stadium.
The hotel will feature a top floor bar and restaurant, free wifi and a 24-hour fitness centre, while IHG says that the hotel’s interior design will be inspired by local landmarks including Cardiff Castle, Bute Park and Park House.
Business Traveller recently stayed at Hotel Indigo properties in Glasgow and Edinburgh – look out for full reviews online and in print in the coming weeks.
