Star Alliance has launched special promotions to mark its 15th anniversary milestone that will offer frequent flyers the chance to earn bonus miles and discounts on Round the World tickets.
The global airline alliance will hand out 15,000 bonus points/miles (or the equivalent in any given frequent flyer programme currency) to the 15 participants who manage to fly with the most Star Alliance carriers between now and November 14. Members of any of the frequent flyer programmes of the 25 member airlines are automatically registered for the promotion, and participants simply need to provide their frequent flyer programme number when booking or checking in for a flight.
Another element of the 15th year celebrations include 15 per cent discounts on Round the World economy class tickets, exclusive of taxes and surcharges. Booking must take place between now and May 29, and must be for travel within 12 months of purchase. Round the World tickets cannot originate in Japan.
