Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have signed a joint venture agreement that takes their previous partnership further.
The agreement will take their collaboration beyond codeshare to include coordinated flight schedules that allow their passengers smoother onward connections across Scandinavia and Southeast Asia. It will also include joint sales activities.
This agreement will also eventually pave the way for a new direct service between Singapore and Stockholm, subject to regulatory approval, as well as other “new destinations in Scandinavia,” according to Goh Choon Phong, chief executive of SIA, although further details are unavailable at this point.
Currently, SAS' “SK” code appears on SIA-operated flights between Singapore and Copenhagen.
