Best Western has opened its second Bangkok property under Best Western Premier, the group’s higher-end brand. The first one is located close to Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The 145-room property is located in central Bangkok along Sukhumvit Soi 1, which is close to Siam Paragon, CentralWorld shopping mall and the famous Bumrungrad International Hospital, a pioneer of medical tourism in Thailand
The hotel consists of a gym, rooftop swimming pool, an all-day dining restaurant and two bars, as well as complimentary wifi internet access in all guest rooms and a business centre with printing and fax facilities.
According to a spokesperson, Best Western is working on rolling out complimentary wifi access in public areas of its hotels, such as the lobby and breakfast venue, which will come into effect in January next year (for a list of other hotel brands that offer complimentary wifi across the board, click here).
In addition to two Best Western Premier hotels, Bangkok is also home to the group’s first Best Western Plus property in Asia (see story here), which opened early last year positioning itself as a “premium economy” brand. The difference between the Best Western, Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier brands are subtle. While Best Western is a mid-tier brand that offers basic amenities, Best Western Plus is the group's more modern and tech-savvy brand and Best Western Premier focuses on luxury. For example, while a restaurant is optional at Best Western, all Best Western Premier hotels must have food and beverage outlets, explained a spokesperson.
