Ryanair to launch Liverpool-Warsaw route

23 Apr 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Ryanair is to launch a new route from Liverpool John Lennon airport to Warsaw from October.

The flights will commence on October 28, departing three times-weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 1725.

The carrier will fly into the forthcoming Warsaw-Modlin Mazovia airport, a former military airfield being converted for passenger use ahead of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championships taking place in Poland and the Ukraine.

The airport is located some 35km from Warsaw city centre, and is being created as a hub for low-cost airlines.

Hungarian budget carrier Wizzair currently flies from Liverpool to Warsaw’s Chopin airport, but is scheduled to move operations to the new Modlin facility in mid-July.
