Scoot, Singapore Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary, has announced it will officially begin operations on June 4 with flights to Sydney, followed by flights to Gold Coast on June 12, 2012, slightly ahead of schedule.
As reported earlier, the carrier previously intended to launch the Sydney route on June 26 and Gold Coast on October 27 (see story here). “Our preparations continue at a fast pace and we’re delighted to be able to put earlier flights on sale,” said Campbell Wilson, chief executive of Scoot.
The flight, operated by a Boeing B777, will depart Singapore daily at 0210, arriving in Sydney at 1140, and the return leg departs Sydney at 1250, arriving back in the carrier’s home base at 1900.
