JAL and Jetblue to begin codeshare agreement

18 Apr 2012 by ahmarshah
Japan Airlines (JAL) has entered into a codeshare agreement with low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways, building upon a previous interline agreement (see story here). The codeshare deal will see JAL’s “JL” code on select JetBlue-operated flights from New York and Boston to 21 other US destinations. The effective date is set for April 22 to coincide with the launch of JAL’s new Tokyo (Narita)-Boston service using the Boeing B787 Dreamliner (see story here). Bookings are being accepted from today (April 18) onwards. The agreement also allows members of JAL's Mileage Bank members to accumulate miles on the codeshare JetBlue-operated flights. The previous interline agreement enabled customers to “conveniently book connections between JetBlue’s network in North America and JAL’s network throughout Asia-Pacific.” For more information, visit www.jal.com or www.jetblue.com Alisha Haridasani
