Jet Airways’ recently rebranded low-cost subsidiary JetKonnect (see story here) has announced it will start to introduce Premiere cabins (business class) on its fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The rollout will be in phases, starting off with five routes: Bengalaru-Mumbai, Mumbai-Nagpur, Nagpur-Mumbai, Mumbai-Hyderabad and Hyderabad-Mumbai. These flights were previously operated by JetLite, which has been merged with Jet Airways Konnect to form JetKonnect. These JetLite aircraft have been refitted with the Premiere cabins and will be available from April 17 onwards.
From April 18 onwards, more flights will also eventually feature the Premiere cabins: Mumbai-Delhi, Kolkata-Guwahati/Delhi/Agartala, Imphal-Guwahati, Mumbai-Aurangabad and Delhi-Bengalaru/Chandigarh.
Though the product will be fitted on all of JetKonnect’s B737s, a definitive timeline for when the project will be completed has not been announced.
The Premiere cabins will resemble those found on Jet Airways, including wider seats, extra legroom and multi-course dining, although they will not feature the fully-flat product found on the carrier's B777-300ER aircraft; instead the Premiere seats on JetKonnect will have a 32-inch recline and a 26.5-inch width.
