Virgin Atlantic, Virgin America and Virgin Australia have fully linked their frequent flyer programmes.
This means that members of Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club, Virgin America’s Elevate and Virgin Australia’s Velocity loyalty schemes can earn and redeem miles and status points when flying with any of the sister-branded airlines.
This move builds upon the three airlines’ decision to enable miles and points earning across the entire Virgin airline family in 2010 (see online news August 11, 2011).
Steve Ridgway, chief executive of Virgin Atlantic said: “The enhanced frequent flyer programme allows us to offer even greater rewards to travellers who choose to fly with us. The Flying Club programme will now not only allow our passengers to redeem flights around our global network but between ourselves, Virgin Australia and Virgin America, they will be able to do so to even more US and Australian destinations.”
“I am thrilled that we can now reward our loyal guests with the ability to fly around the world on Virgin," added Virgin founder, Sir Richard Branson.
