5 Mar 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Hilton Worldwide is to open its first Waldorf Astoria property in Thailand, with the 170-room Bangkok hotel set to open in 2015.

The Waldorf Astoria Bangkok will be located on Ratchadamri Road in the city’s Patumwan district, and will form part of a 60-storey mixed-use tower.

The hotel will feature rooms starting at 50sqm, three restaurants, two bars, two ballrooms, nine meeting rooms, a fitness centre, spa and outdoor pool.

Hilton currently operates six hotels in Thailand – the Bangkok, Millennium Hilton Bangkok, Hilton Pattaya, Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa, Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa and Conrad Koh Samui.

Two further properties – the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok and the DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok are scheduled to open in 2013.

Accor recently opened the Sofitel So Bangkok in the city’s Lumpini Park district (see online news February 28), and Park Hyatt is set to debut in Bangkok in 2014 (see online news February 20).
