India-based Jet Airways has signed an interline agreement with low-cost carrier Jetstar that will offer passengers greater links between India and the rest of the Asia-Pacific region.
Under this agreement, Jet Airways passengers can book an entire multiple leg journey with Jetstar, Jetstar Asia or Jetstar Pacific through a single integrated system, which would provide passengers with a combined Jet Airways e-ticket instead of having to create multiple itineraries.
Also, as part of this agreement, Jetstar will accommodate Jet Airways’ baggage allowances for connecting passengers as well as complimentary meals.
This agreement is timely as it comes immediately after Qantas announced it will drop its Singapore-Mumbai service (see story here). Therefore, by way of this agreement, passengers can still connect from Mumbai to Australian destinations via Singapore.
