Flybe increases Birmingham-Glasgow capacity

21 Feb 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Flybe is to increase capacity on its Birmingham-Glasgow route by serving all flights with Embraer E195 aircraft.

The regional carrier is the only scheduled airline currently serving the Birmingham-Glasgow route, with a mixture of Dash 8 Q400 aircraft and the Embraer E195.

Flybe has now made the decision to base an E195 aircraft at Glasgow, with all frequencies on the Glasgow-Birmingham route being served by the Embraer jet, configured with 118 seats in a 2-2 layout.

The airline says this has resulted in an additional 70,000 seats now being on sale on the route.

Flybe is also set to open a new executive lounge at Glasgow airport “in the next few months”.
