Swissotel Le Concorde Bangkok will soon undergo extensive refurbishment.
The hotel, located on Ratchadapisek Road, is striving to maintain the popularity of its food and beverage outlets while also giving the long-standing hotel a much-needed facelift ahead of planned developments soon to come to the surrounding area, including new shopping malls, office blocks and the relocation of the new Stock Exchange of Thailand building.
Between April and July this year, the hotel will focus on renewing its four restaurants and the bar. The hotel's Japanese restaurant - Takumi - will be moved from Level 2 to Level 1, replacing the current Crossroad Bar and making way for a new Korean restaurant on Level 2. While the renovations are taking place the Crossroad Bar, Fountain Cafe and Deli Bar will be closed. The hotel's lobby will also receive a facelift, scheduled to be complete by the second quarter of this year. Then, from the second half of 2013, renovations of the rooms will commence.
“The time is entirely right for this repositioning,” said Marcel Sawyere, general manager of the hotel. “The whole business dynamics of the area are changing and Swissotel Le Concorde Bangkok is determined to maintain and cement its position as the leading property in the area.”
