Singapore Airlines’ new low-cost subsidiary, Scoot, has announced it will fly to Gold Coast, Australia, from mid-2012 onwards.
Scoot will operate the route five times a week, although schedule details have not yet been released.
The carrier will be the first to connect Singapore directly with Gold Coast, which is “the perfect holiday destination for Scoot’s customers,” stated Anthony Hayes, chief executive of Tourism Queensland.
Gold Coast will be Scoot’s second destination in Australia, after its Sydney service commences, also around mid-2012 (see story here). Again, the exact date of the launch has not been announced.
