Hilton gears up for Conrad New York opening

11 Jan 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Hilton Worldwide is set to open its first property under its luxury Conrad brand in New York in early 2012, located next to Hudson River Park close to the city’s financial district.

The 463-suite Conrad New York will offer rooms starting at 43sqm, with “integrated technology, wifi and two flatscreen HD televisions”.

The hotel’s lobby will feature a huge piece of artwork by the late American artist Sol LeWitt entitled “Loopy Doopy Purple and Blue 1999”, and other facilities will include Atrio restaurant, rooftop bar RTB with views of the Hudson River, business and fitness centres, and 2,800sqm of meeting space.

A post on the hotel’s facebook page (left on January 7) says that the hotel is set to open “very soon”, advising visitors to “check back with us in a couple of weeks for an official date”.

The Conrad New York will be the fourth property by the luxury brand in the US, joining existing hotels in Chicago, Indianapolis and Miami.

Business Traveller will publish further details on the hotel, along with a confirmed opening date in the coming weeks.
