Garuda Indonesia has appointed TransViet Promotion as the local representative to manage its sales, marketing and reservation activities in Vietnam.
TransViet Promotion is a provider of outsource service for the airline industry in Vietnam. The company's other airline partners include Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Malaysia Airlines and Vietnam Airlines. While Garuda currently does not serve Vietnam, it is hoped that this new partnership will increase inbound travel to the country. The agreement also serves to encourage passengers from Vietnam to use Garuda’s hubs in Jakarta, Denpasar in Bali, and Makassar in South Sulawesi for efficient connections to other Indonesian destinations and beyond.
“We look forward to working with Garuda to promote their destinations to travellers from Vietnam. By combining our local knowledge and experience with the capabilities, along with the extensive network that Garuda provides, we are confident that we can maximise the market potential,” said Le Viet Cuong, director of business development, TransViet Promotion.
When asked about future plans to introduce services to Vietnam, Garuda Indonesia's senior general manager area Asia, Risnandi commented: "There is strong air traffic flow between Indonesia and Vietnam, and we are confident in the potential we see in this market. Regional network expansion is a key part of our quantum leap strategy. We definitely have plans to expand our service to serve the Vietnam market."
Garuda Indonesia connects to a total of 31 domestic destinations, and 19 international destinations throughout Asia and Europe, including Shanghai, Tokyo and Amsterdam.
