Ampersand Hotel to reopen in South Kensington

23 Dec 2011 by BusinessTraveller

The Ampersand Hotel is set to reopen next year, and will feature 110 rooms, a patisserie, Bellini bar and a “destination cocktail and dining experience”.

The historic property was originally built in 1888, and is billed as “one of London’s original Victorian boutique hotels”, located on Harrington Road close to South Kensington tube station.

Full details of the hotel have to be released, but it is scheduled to open in time for the London 2012 Olympics, and will feature 110 “individually styled bedrooms and balconied suites, splashes of contemporary art, a ground floor patisserie serving artisanal coffee and a stunning Bellini bar”, and “an atmospheric vaulted destination cocktail and dining experience”.

The hotel’s website also says that spaces will be “inspired by the Natural History Museum nearby”, and décor will be influenced by “musical icons and imagery”.
