Beginning January 5, 2012, Air China will introduce twice weekly Chengdu-Kathmandu-Chengdu services on a A319 aircraft.
The flight (operating Thursday and Sunday) will depart Chengdu at 0950 arriving in Kathmandu at 1100. It will depart Nepal’s capital at 1200 and arrive in Chengdu at 1655.
Currently Air China passengers wanting to reach Kathmandu from the southwest China city have to transfer at Llhasa and it is estimated that the new direct route will save up to two hours in travel time.
