Germanwings to take over Stuttgart routes to Heathrow and Manchester

14 Dec 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Germanwings is to commence flights from Stuttgart to Heathrow and Manchester next year, adding to existing services to London Stansted from the German city.

The Lufthansa subsidiary will take over existing UK services from Stuttgart currently being operated by Lufthansa Regional partners CityLine and Contact Air.

In addition Germanwings will operate all other Lufthansa European services out of Stuttgart as of summer 2012.

The carrier will commence thrice-daily flights to Heathrow from February, and a five times-weekly service to Manchester from July. The full timetable for both routes is detailed below.

Germanwings operates a fleet of A319 aircraft. For recent reviews of the carrier’s Best Seat product between London Stansted and Stuttgart, click here. The carrier operates a low-cost model with additional charges for checked baggage, snacks and drinks (unless bundled within the Best Seat option).
