Lufthansa has become the first airline to announce regular A380 services to Texas, with the superjumbo set to be added to its Frankfurt-Houston route from August 1 next year.
The carrier's A380 will be added to daily flights LH440 and LH441 between the two cities, replacing the B747-400 aircraft currently operating the route.
In addition Lufthansa says it will reinstate A380 services to New York from May 21, 2012, and will also swap its A380 aircraft from Miami onto its San Francisco route for the summer season from March 23.
More information on all of the carrier's A380 services can be seen on Lufthansa's dedicated A380 microsite at a380.lufthansa.com.
