Swiss opens new lounge at Zurich airport

2 Dec 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Swiss has unveiled a 650-sqm business class lounge for non-Schengen passengers using the new Dock B at Zurich airport.

Lounge D is located just after the passport check area, close to the Dock B departure gate, and features design elements including Vitra armchairs, Jurassic limestone walls and “generously-sized windows looking out over the apron area”.

The facility is split into two areas for – one for Senator and Star Gold cardholders, and the other for business class travellers and those with Miles & More Frequent Traveller status.

Each section features a working zone with free wifi internet access, a buffet bistro area and newspapers and magazines available.

Swiss has also introduced a Mercedes Sprinter bus service for inbound business class passengers whose flights are not assigned a dock stand, as well as a new security check building with priority lanes for premium passengers.

To coincide with the opening of Dock B, Swiss has also rolled out its new corporate identity at the airport, including a 5.5 metre-long logo displayed on its check-in concourse.

The new logo attracted mixed views from readers when it was unveiled – for more information read our news piece here, and a subsequent forum discussion on the best and worst travel logos here.
