Global hotel and restaurant collection Relais and Chateaux has added four new members in the UK and Ireland, including Greywalls Hotel and Chez Roux located next to Muirfield golf course.
Three of the new members are located in Scotland: the Isle of Eriska Hotel, Spa and Island, Greywalls Hotel and Chez Roux, and the two-Michelin star Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles, located within the Gleneagles Hotel.
Also joining the collection is Ballyfin Demesne, a five-star country house hotel set at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in Ireland, about 100km southwest of Dublin.
The Relais and Chateaux collection - which describes its mission “to spread its ‘art de vivre’ across the globe by selecting outstanding character properties” – counts over 500 hotels and restaurants within its portfolio, including Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck in Bray, Lower Slaughter Manor in the Cotswolds, and the three-Michelin star The French Laundry in Napa Valley.
