Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg - Tchaikovskogo is poised to open in St. Petersburg during the summer of 2012. It will takeover a 101-year-old townhouse that was previously a local hotel.
The 119-room property will be a 20 minutes drive away from the Pulkovo Airport, and five minutes away from the Moskovsky train station. It will neighbour famous attractions such as the Summer Gardens and Stieglitz Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts, and Hermitage Museum and the Winter Palace are short walks away.
Currently, there are four Hotel Indigo properties in Europe, and another nine are in the pipeline and set to open in early 2012. IHG has announced plans to introduce the Hotel Indigo brand to both Moscow and St Petersburg. It plans to have 100 hotels across Russia and the Commonwealth Independent States (CIS) by 2020.
“We believe the demand for all our brands will continue to grow over the next 10 years as domestic and international travel increases across Russia,” said Aron Libinson, IHG’s vice president for development in Russia and CIS.
In Asia, the Hotel Indigo Shanghai opened last year. Its second property in the region, the Hotel Indigo Hong Kong QRE, is also scheduled to open next year.
