The Singapore Takeout, a mobile restaurant, will be in Hong Kong on November 10 to 12 at Cyberport’s Ocean View Court to showcase Singaporean cuisine.
The pop-up kitchen is part of Singapore International Culinary Exchange (SPICE), an initiative by government agencies Singapore Tourism Board, International Entreprise Singapore and SPRING Singapore to promote the Lion City’s culture and cuisine in nine cities around the world.
In Hong Kong, The Singapore Takeout will be led by Chef Armin Leitgeb of Les Amis in Singapore, alongside Chef Sebastien Lepinoy from the renowned Cépage restaurant in Hong Kong, also part of the Les Amis group. The two will cook up a selection of Singapore-inspired dishes.
The initiative will also involve a specially designed eight-course menu for Cépage for one night on the last day of the tour (November 12), featuring Chef Leitgeb's signature dish of lightly smoked eel with crispy pork croutons. The special menu costs HK$2,700 (US$347) per person.
Before its Hong Kong stopover, The Singapore Takeout hit up London, Paris, Moscow and New York. From Hong Kong, the kitchen will travel to Shanghai (December 1 to 3), Delhi (January 13 to 15, 2012), Dubai (February 18 to 20, 2012) and Sydney (March 30 to April 1, 2012).
Guests will need to register by November 4, 2011, to take part in this culinary experience and they will receive an email confirmation by November 7, 2011. For more information and registration, visit the initiative’s Facebook page.
