Sofitel to open new properties in Frankfurt, Kiev and Singapore

27 Oct 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Accor’s luxury Sofitel brand has signed agreements for three new hotels, including a boutique Sofitel So property set to open in Singapore in 2013.

Scheduled to open in 2013, Sofitel Kiev Lyuteranska will be located close to the city’s Opera House, and will feature 289 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a bar, 1,00sqm of spa and fitness facilities, seven meeting rooms and a ballroom.

Also set for a 2013 opening is Sofitel So Singapore, a 134-room boutique hotel housed within a building dating back to 1927, situated in the city’s business district. The first Sofitel property in Singapore, the group describes the Sofitel So concept as “trendy, designer boutique properties located right in the heart of town and reflecting its spirit and atmosphere”.

Finally Sofitel Frankfurt Opera will be located next to the Opera House, featuring 150 rooms, a restaurant, lobby bar and 400sqm of spa and fitness facilities. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2014.

The announcements follow Accor’s decision to revamp its economy brands under the Ibis name (see online news September 13), and plans for expansion in the Middle East (see online news October 21).
