The Ritz-Carlton Residences debut in Singapore

26 Oct 2011

A leading hospitality operator has launched its first luxury residential project in Asia.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences Singapore, Cairnhill, developed by KOP Properties, joins a select circle of 15 standalones, with 16 more in different stages of construction in various countries, including Canada and Germany. The product made its debut in Washington DC.

Leny Suparman, KOP Properties chief executive officer, stressed they worked closely with The Ritz-Carlton executives to ensure the hardware and software meet the exacting standards the company is famous for. So far, it is the first and only hotel company to receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from the US Department of Commerce. “The layout of public areas and design of guestrooms, as well as service delivery, were approved by [The Ritz-Carlton]," said Suparman. “They hired and trained the staff. All operations are fully managed by them.”

Located in one of Singapore's prime residential districts, Cairnhill, the 24-storey building houses 56 units in three- and four-bedroom layouts as well as two penthouses. Offering a self-contained environment for residents and guests, management has created three sky terraces, each designated for particular activities. The 24th storey can be booked for parties and comes with a wine cellar; the 14th contains a cafe, lounge and library; and the 4th is equipped with a pool perfect for serious lap exercises, Jacuzzi, gym and a smaller pool for aqua biking. A large outdoor pool completes the leisure package.

While majority of the units will be occupied by owners or rented out by them, there is provision for short-stay guests between six months to a year, said Suparman.
