PIA B777 bound for Manchester makes emergency landing

A Pakistan International Airlines B777 aircraft bound for Manchester was forced to land in Turkey following a bomb threat, according to BBC reports.

The report says that flight PK709, carrying 378 passengers, was bound for Manchester from Lahore, and was flying over Bulgaria when it turned around and landed in Istanbul.

PIA says that passengers and baggage were screened, and no suspicious materials were found.

The BBC also reports that a second PIA aircraft was forced to land at Kuala Lumpur following a bomb threat.
