Lufthansa subsidiary Bmi Regional is to launch a three-times daily weekday service (plus one Sunday flight) from East Midlands airport to Frankfurt International.
The new route will start on October 31 using 49-seater Embraer 145 aircraft, and will offer timings suiting both daytrippers and those looking to connect onto services from the Lufthansa hub.
The early morning 0600 flight from East Midlands arrives in Frankfurt at 0830, allowing travellers to do a full day’s work before returning on the 1940, landing back in the UK at 2020. The full timetable is detailed below.
There are currently no direct flights from East Midlands airport to the German financial hub. The airport primarily serves travellers based in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, but its location close to the M1 means it also attracts those based in the South Yorkshire catchment area.
