Budget hotel chain Premier Inn will open a property adjacent to the London 2012 Olympic Park next month.
The 267-room hotel is attached to the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre, which is set to be unveiled on September 13, and a quick search on Premier Inn’s website shows availability for the London Stratford property from the same date.
At the time of going to press rooms were available at the hotel for £82 for a Premier Flexible rate, which can be amended up to 1pm on the day of arrival.
The Premier Inn website describes the hotel as being “in the heart of the Olympic Park just minutes walk from the stadium”, and “directly above the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre, the largest urban shopping centre in Europe”.
Intercontinental Hotels Group is also set to open two properties within the Olympic Park, under its Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites brands. According to the group’s website the Holiday Inn London – Stratford City is due to open in the second quarter of 2012, while the Staybridge Suites London – Stratford City is set to open in the third quarter of next year.
The £1.45 billion Westfield Stratford City development will feature around 300 shops, 70 bars and restaurants, a 17-screen cinema, 14-lane bowling alley, and the UK’s largest casino, as well as office space, three hotels and, when fully complete, 1.1 million square feet of office space.
Retail brands will include John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Esprit, Next, Hugo Boss, Topshop, H&M, River Island and Boots, while food and beverage outlets will include Jamie’s Italian, Wahaca, Pizza Express, Strada, Las Iguanas and TGI Friday.
Business Traveller will report further on both the Premier Inn hotel and the Westfield Stratford City development ahead of their launch next month.
