Korean Air took delivery of its third Airbus A380 last week, which will be deployed on the Incheon-New York JFK route tomorrow (August 23).
This additional aircraft on the route will enable the carrier to up the frequency of its A380 service to New York. As previously reported (see story here), the A380 is used three times a week and, from September 1 onwards, the aircraft will be used seven times a week out of the 14 weekly flights between Seoul and New York.
The flight will depart Seoul Incheon daily at 1100, arriving in New York at 1130 the same day, while the return leg will depart at 1400, arriving back in Seoul at 1735 the following day.
The carrier also plans to deploy the superjumbo on the Seoul-Los Angeles route in October, however details have yet to be released.
Korean Air took delivery of its first A380 in May this year (see story here) and has a total of ten A380s on order. Two more aircraft are scheduled to arrive by the end of 2011, with the remaining five due over the course of 2012.
