The big picture: Heathrow displays London 2012 sculptures

12 Aug 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Passengers passing through Heathrow T5 over the next month or so will be able to view wire sculptures of London 2012 hopefuls including Tom Daley and Jason Gardener, as part of the Sculpture and Sport: A Celebration For 2012 exhibition.

The sculptures are standing (or in the case of Daley, diving) on the airport's Terminal 5 departure area until September 30, and next year will be displayed as part of a larger collection at locations including the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and the Oxo Tower Gallery in London.

Heathrow was today announced as London 2012's "Host Airport", and is expecting its busiest day ever the day after the closing ceremony next year.
