Bmi to revamp inflight food offering

27 Jul 2011 by BusinessTraveller

The carrier is to introduce free hot food for economy passengers on European and Moroccan services, and will serve cake to flexible economy travellers on UK and Ireland flights.

The carrier will serve hot breakfast wraps to economy passengers on European and Moroccan flights departing before 1000, and will continue to serve hot wraps throughout the day.

In addition Bmi is to serve complimentary cake to flexible economy passengers on UK, Ireland and Hanover flights departing between 1000-1200 and 1330-1700 (with hot food being served at other times).

The cake selection will vary from Victoria sponge to lemon drizzle and carrot cake. Chief commercial officer Joerg Hennemann said that “valued feedback” from customers had helped the airline to make changes to its menu.

The carrier recently announced new flights to Nice and Agadir (see online news July 19), but will cut back the number of flights to Berlin to accommodate these services (see online news July 20).

Travellers interested in earning Diamond Club miles should note that Bmi’s current American Express credit card offer of 30,000 bonus miles expires at the end of this month (see online news July 7).
