Great Hotels of the World removes booking and card fees

19 Jul 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Guests booking stays on the Great Hotels of the World website will no longer have to pay any booking or credit card fees

The group has removed fees for all reservations, including offers and limited time sales.

Sonia Giaimo, leisure sales manager for Great Hotels of the World said that “In light of the recent criticism surrounding companies who utilise large credit card and booking fees, we have decided to take action and allow customers to feel at greater ease when making a reservation through us”.

Last month Monarch Airlines announced it was dropping fees for booking using a debit card on its website (see online news June 3), and the Office of Fair Trading recently said it had “put passenger travel companies on notice to change misleading debit and credit card surcharging practices or face enforcement action under consumer protection laws”.
