Singapore’s Tiger Airways announced that it will launch a direct service between Singapore and Cebu from September 6, 2011.
Cebu, the Philippines' second largest gateway, is the airline’s second destination in the country after Manila. It serves both Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Clark through flights operated by partner SEAIR.
The service will commence with four flights a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays), increasing to a daily service in October. Tickets are available from the website (www.tigerairways.com) and prices begin at S$55 (US$44.80) one-way, inclusive. This rate compares favourably to competitors that fly the route, including Silkair (internet price for one-way September 6 US$346) and Cebu Pacific Air (internet price one-way September 6 US$91.14).
