All Nippon Airways (ANA) Group Pilot Union calls off strike that was scheduled to begin today.
The 24-hour work stoppage was called off at 0136 and all domestic and international flights will operate as normal.
The pilots strike would have come at a bad time since the carrier is positioned to receive delivery of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner later this year. ANA will begin flying validation services around Japan in the first week of July (see story here) and staff training for the aircraft is already underway (see story here).
