Virgin opens v-room lounge at Manchester

23 Jun 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Virgin Holidays will open its second dedicated lounge for leisure passengers at the start of next month, a 400sqm facility at Manchester airport featuring a kid’s room, gaming zone, free wifi and hot and cold buffet.

The new lounge is located within Manchester’s Terminal 2, and joins the group’s existing facility at Gatwick airport.

The “funky and colourful” lounge can accommodate up to 100 passengers, and features a water-themed kid’s room, a gaming zone with a wall-sized screen and X-Box console, and an adults-only area with free wifi and “specially commissioned artwork”.

The £20 entry fee (£12 per child) includes a hot and cold buffet with breakfast and brunch dishes and beverages available throughout the day, as well as a paid-for alcoholic bar.

Tickets can now be bought for the lounge, for departures from July 1, and customers staying at Platinum Collection hotels receive free entry.
