Vietnam Airlines confirms Gatwick routes

20 Jun 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Vietnam Airlines will launch direct flights from London Gatwick to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from this December. The carrier announced plans for a London route in April (see online news April 23), and has now confirmed it will use Gatwick airport for these two new routes.

The exact schedules have yet to be released, but the carrier will fly twice-weekly to both destinations from December 9, using B777-200ER aircraft configured for economy, Deluxe Economy and business class.

There are currently no direct services between London and Vietnam –options from London include Vietnam Airlines services from Frankfurt and Paris, or connections in Bangkok, Singapore or Hong Kong.

Vietnam Airlines joined Skyteam in June 2010, and serves 26 international destinations from its main hubs in the north and south of the country.
