Jet Airways, Air India and Kingfisher Airlines have opened city check-in counters at two Delhi Airport Metro Express stations for passengers travelling on domestic flights.
The services are now available at the New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium stations of the rail link connecting Indira Gandhi International Airport with downtown Delhi. Travellers can check in baggage at these locations between two to six hours before departure. Kingfisher Airlines, however, only offers the service at the New Delhi station.
The check-in counters will also be set up at Dhaula Kuan station when it opens later this year and eventually, the service will be available for international passengers.
As previously reported (see story here), the rail link itself began operations at least five months late in February and the city check in counters was rolled out four months late due to issues between various stakeholders.
